Thisstudydealswiththe problemofdirectmeasurementsofthe netsplash-saltationfluxes. Onthebaseoftheoreticalconsiderations, atechniquehasbeendevelopedtomeasure the netsplash-saltationfluxunderartificial obliquerainsinlaboratoryconditions. Thishasbeen donefordifferent slopeinclinations, rangingfromweather-side to lee-side conditions.
In most cases, thenetsplashsaltationfluxgoesinthesamesenseasthe velocitycomponentoftheraindrops, paralleltothesoilsurface, regardlessitsinclination. . Indirectly, thelaboratory measurementsshowthatsplash-saltation canbe considered asa pluvio-eolianprocess, exceptforthepuretheoretical caseofavertical rain.
Theyalsosuggestthat themeasurementofsplash-saltation fluxes inthe field isarather complex operation, because neither direction nor sense of the flux can be assumedbeforehandonthebaseoftheslopeconfigurationalone. Thedesignismadeofa field setup enablingtomeasureanarbitrarily orientedsplash-saltation flux.
