Belgium, among the European leaders in participatory science!
The Citizen Science Scan 2025, published by Scivil (Flemish Centre for Knowledge and Research in Citizen Science) in collaboration with Université catholique de Louvain, lists 240 citizen science projects currently active in Belgium.
Our colleague Caroline Michellier, researcher at the AfricaMuseum and the Earth and Life Institute - UCLouvain, was the guest of Matin Première (RTBF) to talk about it. In particular, she presents her work as part of the HARISSA project, in collaboration with the network of Citizen Observers in Kivu, who monitor disasters related to natural hazards.
