Antoine Dille
Post-doctoral researcher at the RMCA, in the framework of the LACTOSE project, he will give a presentation entitled "From Ground to Orbit: Integrating Fieldwork and Satellite Data for Landslide Research in Central Africa".
This presentation will explore how fieldwork and satellite-based approaches can be combined to enhance our understanding of landslide mechanisms and dynamics. By integrating detailed on-the-ground observations with long-term, regional-scale data from satellite imagery, we aim to improve insights into how both natural and human-induced factors contribute to the occurrence and behaviour of slow-moving landslides. Gaining a better understanding of these processes is essential for setting the foundation for effective landslide monitoring, especially in tropical, landslide-prone regions like Central Africa where communities are particularly vulnerable.
